The true value of the Girl Scout Fall Fundraiser does not come in dollars and cents, but in the valuable skills it offers the girls. The experience they gain by participating helps develop self-esteem, and empowers them to be responsible adults who are resourceful, productive and strong. The core lessons include:
- Teamwork
- Planning and goal setting
- Decision-making skills; how to prioritize
- Financial management; the budgetary process
- Effective, positive communication skills
The fall nut sale is better than ever. The council will once again work with Ashdon Farms and provide products perfect for holiday gift giving.
Help Build Our New Bunkhouse/Lodge
We’ve got an exciting opportunity for your troop to help support the construction of our new bunkhouse/lodge at Camp Ginger Cascades. Our council is asking for the support of your family and friends by offering them the option to purchase new or renew their current magazine subscriptions through QSP/Reader’s Digest.
QSP enables families and friends to help GSCCVA by renewing or subscribing to their favorite publications. Please tell your families that they can renew even if their subscription has not yet expired. When they renew with QSP it will add to the length of their current subscription! The profit that the council receives will be used for the construction of the Catawba Valley Bunkhouse/Lodge at Hilltop to keep our campsite well maintained and safe.
We encourage you to click here to complete a learning activity to learn more about e-mail “netiquette” and provide e-mail addresses of family and friends who might like to purchase a magazine to help the Girl Scout Council of Catawba Valley Area.
The troop will NOT receive any troop profits from the magazine sales. Instead, all proceeds will go directly toward the construction of the new bunkhouse/lodge at Camp Ginger Cascades! If the troop averages at least three magazine sales per registered Girl Scout, then the troop will receive a tile that will be placed within the bunkhouse/lodge in honor of the troop. Each troop will be able to design their tile to be placed in the bunkhouse/lodge to commemorate your contribution.
