Susan Dickens
Vice Chair of Property
Susan Dickens was elected to the position of Vice Chair of Property in March 2004. She was first elected to the GSCCVA Board of Directors in 2001. She also serves as Member-at-Large on the Historical Committee.
Active with the Girl Scouts, Susan believes firmly in the values of Girl Scouting.
“There is something of value for everyone in Girl Scouting; you only have to reach out and take it. Over the years I've seen members receive the many gifts of Girl Scouting—self-confidence, self-esteem, lifetime friendships, career goals, living skills—and achieve success in ways they might never have thought possible. Girls and the adult women who volunteer are given the opportunity to participate in activities that might not have been available to them otherwise. All of this comes in a safe, non-judgmental and fun environment. To me, it is the place every girl and woman should want to be! I serve on the Board because I want to be a part of helping to ensure the longevity of Girl Scouting so that it remains a stable and meaningful program for girls and women of the future.”
Susan is a graduate of Western Carolina University with a bachelor’s degree in English education. She has held positions with various organizations including secretary/treasurer for Foothills Collector’s Club and Committee Chair for Freedom Band Boosters.
